What brands of VFD’s do we service?

At Aggregate Electrical Services we service the following VFD equipment:

  • ABB
  • Cutler Hammer
  • Allen Bradley
  • TECO
  • MTX
  • Yaskawa
  • Mitsubishi
Do you offer maintenance on VFD’s?

We typically troubleshoot VFD’s but do not offer maintenance as the components often need to be shipped back to a certified service centre or manufacturer.

What brand of VFD do we supply?

We can supply most major brands.  We prefer TECO drives due to cost effectiveness, supply availability and “ease of use”.

How long does it take to build a VFD?

It depends on how big the VFD is but a standard 10-40 hp drive can be fabricated in 1-3 days. If your requirement is larger than 40hp, please contact us to discuss timelines.

What is the typical costs involved with a build?

This all depends on the client requirements.  Please take a look at the different types of VFD’s that Aggregate Electrical Services has recently done or call us to discuss.

What do I need to provide to get the VFD build started?

We need the following as a guide to get to started:

  • Horsepower
  • Voltage
  • RPM
  • Application
  • Supply Breaker Size
  • Length of “Run To” size
Anything else I should consider when ordering a new VFD?

Yes, some other questions that we’d ask you include:

Do you want line/load reactors? – this provides harmonic filtering to stabilize power source/draw on frequency sensitive units

Do you want enclosures? – We recommend that all drives be enclosed for safety, protection against the elements and to enhance drive life

Additional Options:

  • start/stop buttons
  • speed indicator meters
  • remote speed control
  • cooling fans
  • filter systems

Where should the unit be mounted?

We like to mount the units in accessible areas so it is very important that we get the correct dimensions before we start the build as this impacts where it can be finally installed.
